WIP Wednesday: September 28, 2011

This past month has been particularly busy and left little time for quilting. Luckily, I was able to reacquaint myself with my sewing machine this week, and made some good progress. Oh, how I missed sewing!

Check out Freshly Pieced for more WIP Wednesday goodness.

Current Projects

2011 Memory Quilt {1/? blocks complete}: So far this year, I have given away every single quilt and table runner I have made. I wanted a way to remember them, because sometimes I forget all the finished quilts I have made when I look at my Work In Progress list. I decided to make a memory quilt out of scraps from each of this year’s completed quilts. Some of the quilt patterns I used did not have very much waste, so I chose a small postage stamp block. The blocks will finish at 4” square. One way or another, I will finish the Kaleidoscope quilt this year. I made that block first, since those scraps were handy.

Blueberry Pie {0/18 blocks complete}: I continued piecing the nine-patch blocks. The more I work on this project, the more I like it.

Kaleidoscope Quilt Along {35/35 blocks complete}: I finished the blocks and started piecing them together into rows. My piecing is not perfect, but that’s okay. This quilt is intended to be used and loved, not admired. Still, I really like how it is coming together. Next quilt-along, though, I won’t make such a big quilt.

  2. Ahh, the kaleidoscope pattern. Love it and bought it but haven't had the right fabric for it yet. Still on the to do list. Yours is lovely...

  3. Love the idea of the memory quilt, I've been tossing that idea around, but I'm not sure what pattern I might use.... I probably should stop thinking and start doing!

Curious to see your Blueberry Pie, come together. It's looking good!
